The soon-to-be-mom follows up her successful ballad “Love and War,” with the head-bobbing, breezy second single called “The One”that samples the Notorious B.I.G.’s classic “Juicy,” which originally sampled Mtume’s “Juicy Fruit.”
The feel-good record was produced by Yung Berg and LaShawn Daniels.
Tamar shot the music video for the song last month on the beach in Santa Monica. “The concept of the video is just a summer throwback,” Tamar said of the Gil Green-directed clip. “It kinda gives you that feeling when you was in high school and you was with your boyfriend or your girlfriend and you go to the park and you hang out and you get all cutie, and it’s just funners.”
The 36-year-old singer/reality TV star recently signed with L.A. Reid at Epic Records, where she will release her album Love and War later this year.
